Bill Clinton Will Skip Obama Speech

Former President Bill Clinton, who will take center stage Wednesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, will not be on hand to hear Barack Obama’s acceptance speech Thursday at Invesco Field, sources have told CNN.

Hillary Clinton, however, will attend the event, but a number of her top advisers — including her campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe — will skip town prior to Obama’s coronation, according to a Washington Post report. Another of Hillary Clinton's top New York fundraisers, Alan Patricof, did not make the trip to Denver.

Bill Clinton is believed to have a rift with Obama. In fact, new comments by the former president have some observers believing that he will avoid Obama's acceptance speech because he has once again questioned Obama’s ability to deliver on his promise of change.

During the primary campaign Clinton repeatedly claimed that only his wife Hillary had the experience to deliver on political promises.
