The best way to lighten the tax burden is to lessen the spending burden. If government spends less, it takes less. And if it takes less, the tax system will weigh less heavily on us all.

Unemployment in August rose to 9.7 percent despite the Obama administration's predictions to the contrary. But neither the administration experts nor Obama will acknowledge that their models and strategy are flawed. Instead, they proclaim success.

Virtually every reporter calls President Barack Obama's healthcare plan "reform." But dictionaries define reform as "improvement." So before they present any evidence, reporters pronounce Obama's plan an improvement. Credibility should be an issue.
